Who we are
Datum is a team of thirteen electrical engineers based in Shenzhen. Our project experience covers electrical control systems, custom non-standard parts, CNC machining, surface treatment, battery and energy systems, motors, SMT assembly and fully custom builds.
Over that work we have built direct relationships with more than 500 supplier factories across these trades. When a part on your BOM needs a specific process, we already know which shops do it well, and which ones only say they do.
Why engineers, not traders
We read your drawings and datasheets the way you do. We notice when a quoted spec does not match the request, when a tolerance will quietly double the price, or when a battery pack is going to have trouble shipping, and we raise it before it becomes your problem.
What we do not do
We do not design your robot. Architecture and component selection stay with your team. Our job is to get you accurate numbers, real lead times and parts that match the spec, so that the engineering decision you make is made on good information. If a line is outside what our network can source well, we tell you on day one rather than guessing.
Where we work
We are based in Shenzhen, inside the electronics and precision machining cluster. Motor, PCB and SMT, battery and machining suppliers are a short drive away, and the Yangtze River Delta factories that make many motion components are a short flight.
That matters for one practical reason: when a sample is wrong, we can be standing in the factory the next morning rather than sending an email into a time zone gap.
