Scope of responsibility

Most sourcing agents are vague here, and it ends badly for both sides when a part fails on a bench. Ours is written down before you send a purchase order and repeated in every quote we issue.

We are responsible for

  • Supplier verificationBusiness licence, export history, and a visit to the floor before we quote a new factory.
  • Spec conformanceThat the part delivered matches the datasheet the supplier quoted, including the test conditions behind peak versus continuous figures.
  • Incoming inspectionDimensional and functional checks against criteria you agree at sample stage, with photos and measurements before shipment.
  • Commercial and freightNegotiation, contracts, export documentation, dangerous goods paperwork for cells, and customs clearance to your door.
  • Rework and replacementIf a part is out of spec, we take it up with the factory and cover the return leg. That is our fight, not yours.

You are responsible for

  • Selection and fitness for purposeWe will tell you what a part can do and flag when a spec looks wrong for your load case. Deciding it suits your robot is your engineering call.
  • Duty cycle and thermal designAn actuator run past its continuous rating will fail. That is a design outcome, not a defect, and it is the most common dispute in this trade.
  • Certification for your marketWe supply the supplier’s CE, RoHS or UN38.3 documents. Certifying your finished robot is on you.
  • Design IPYour drawings stay yours. We sign an NDA before receiving them and pass a back-to-back one to the factory.

How a dispute actually gets resolved

Because the honest version of this is more useful than a warranty statement.

  1. You tell us what happened

Send photos, the failure mode, the operating conditions, and the serial or batch if you have it. We do not need a formal claim.

  2. We establish which side of the line it falls on

Out of spec against the quoted datasheet is ours. In spec but unsuitable for the application is yours. Where it is genuinely unclear, we split the cost rather than argue, and we say that here so you can hold us to it.

  3. We deal with the factory, not you

Chasing a Chinese supplier over a defect in a second language is exactly the work you are paying us to absorb.

  4. We tell you what we changed

Either the inspection criteria, the supplier, or nothing — and we say which.

Confidentiality

We sign your NDA before receiving drawings, STEP files or specifications. If you do not have one we will send ours. We pass a back-to-back confidentiality agreement to any factory that receives your files, and we tell you by name which factory holds them.

We will not quote your design to a supplier we know to be developing a competing product. Where we think a risk of that exists, we will say so before sending your files rather than after.

Export compliance

We check that each part can legally leave China and legally enter your destination country before quoting. Where a line is controlled, we decline it and tell you why. We do not route controlled goods through third countries, and we will end a relationship over a request to do so.

Terms of business

This page is a plain-language summary. The binding version is the terms attached to each quotation. Where the two differ, the quotation governs. If anything on this page is not reflected in the terms you receive, tell us — that is a mistake on our side.

Send one line and see what comes back.

You do not need a finished BOM to start. Send the single part that is currently blocking you and we will quote it. It costs you an email and tells you more about us than this page can.
